TRADEMARKS

Information and Documents required for filing Trademark Applications in Brazil

• Applicant's full name, nationality, and complete address
• A list of the goods or services to be covered by the trademark.
• A specimen of the trademark, if compound or design mark.
• If Convention priority is to be claimed, a certified (not legalized) copy of the home application will be required. This document may be filed concurrently with the application or up to 4 (four) months from the date of filing in Brazil .
• A simple signed power of attorney (click to download). This document does not need to be legalized and may be filed concurrently with the application or up to 60 (sixty) days after the filing date of the application in Brazil .




PATENTS

Information and Documents required for entering the National Phase of a PCT Application in Brazil

• Applicant's full name, nationality and complete address.
• Inventor's full name, nationality, profession and complete address.
• Copy of the international PCT request (form PCT/RO/101).
• Copy of the specification, claims, abstract and drawings as originally filed in the PCT application.
• Copy of the international search report (form PCT/ISA/210).
• Copy of amendments made in the application during the international phase.
• Copy of the preliminary examination report (form PCT/IPEA/409) if applicable.
• A simple copy of the priority document. This document or a declaration stating that the priority document has already been forwarded to the WIPO may be filed concurrently with the entry of the application into the national phase or within 60 (sixty) days counted therefrom.
• A simple signed power of attorney (click to download). This document does not need to be legalized and may be filed concurrently with the application or up to 60 (sixty) days after the filing date of the application in Brazil.

 

Information and Documents required for filing a Convention Patent Application in Brazil

• Applicant's full name, nationality and complete address.
• Inventor's full name, nationality, profession and complete address.
• Copy of the specification, claims, abstract and drawings.
• A certified (not legalized) copy of the basic foreign application, if priority is to be claimed. This document may be filed concurrently with the application or up to 180 days from the date of filing in Brazil . 
• A simple signed power of attorney (click to download). This document does not need to be legalized and may be filed concurrently with the application or up to 60 (sixty) days after the filing date of the application in Brazil.  




INDUSTRIAL DESIGN REGISTRATION

Information and Documents Required for Filing Design Application

• Applicant's full name, nationality and complete address.
• Inventor's full name, nationality, profession and complete address.
• Copy of the specification, claims and abstract in any language and drawings, if any. The abstract is not required for design applications.
• A certified (not legalized) copy of the basic foreign application, if priority is to be claimed. This document may be filed concurrently with the application or up to  90 days from the date of filing in Brazil. 
• A simple signed power of attorney (click to download). This document does not need to be legalized and may be filed concurrently with the application or up to 60 (sixty) days after the filing date of the application in Brazil.
